Reasons to study at the Faculty of Business and Economics

1. You can study in an international environment

You will join the classroom together with other students of different nationalities from around the world. More than 120 international students choose our Faculty to carry out part of their studies. We offer you 18 subjects in English, including a specialized track in International Trade. Our mobility agreements cover more than 150 universities in 36 countries.

2. You can decide your own curriculum
You will be able to choose subjects from the degree in Business Administration and Management, the degree in Finance and Accounting and the degree in Economics, and combine them in order to explore what interests you more and choose the best timetable for you.

If you are a master's student, you can choose subjects in the Master in Business Administration or in the Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, both taught in Spanish, or in the Master in International Markets taught entirely in English.

3. You can study in a Faculty with an international and high quality academic reputation
Our Faculty is very well positioned in the international rankings. In the Shanghai Ranking we are located between the 401-500 positions in Economics and in the Times Higher Education we are located in the 401-500 range in Business and Economics.

Besides, we have several certifications from professional institutions such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and ICAC (Institute of Accounting and Auditing).

4. You take advantage of an experienced team of teaching staff
Our teaching staff is specialised and experienced with a recognized track record in both teaching and research.

5. You can enjoy a vast cultural and leisure offer
You can discover the Catalan culture and explore the wide cultural and recreational offer available. You will visit the Roman city of Tarragona (World Heritage Site), explore Modernism in Reus, relax in the beaches of Costa Dorada, take a tour in the delta in the natural park of the Ebro river, have fun in the Port Aventura amusement park and so on. Reus and Tarragona are two medium-sized cities with mild weather and a lot of cultural offer that permit you to integrate easily and enjoy local lifestyle and hospitality.

Degrees and subjects

The Faculty of Business and Economics offers three degrees and four double degrees where some subjects are lectured in English, and three master's degrees, one of which is entirely lectured in English. See all courses.

All three degrees follow the same curriculum for the first year. Lectures are conducted either in Spanish or Catalan. Some subjects are also offered in English.

Each year is divided into two semesters. The first semester goes from September until mid-December. The first semester exams are held in January.

The second semester goes from February until late May, and exams are held in June. The exact start and finish dates of the course are given in the information pack that the student receives after submitting his/her application.

  •  The Faculty of Economics and Business of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili has a clear international orientation. As you can see in our website, we have signed more than 150 collaboration agreements with universities in 36 countries all around the world.
    Our Bachelor and Master degrees offer builds on solid, high quality and innovative methodologies that combine strong theoretical basis with hands-on educational programs. The main characteristics of the education we offer can be summarized as high level teaching, clear international focus and high employability of our students. We are also the first Faculty of Business and Economics in Catalunya to have been granted with a quality validation by the Catalan Agency for the Quality of the Univesity System.
    We offer you 18 subjects taught in English. Among them, we also offer a specialization in International Trade which includes five subjects in English. Furthermore, our Faculty offers the Master in International Markets, a master's degree taught entirely in English. If you come here, you will study in a diverse, cosmopolitan and stimulating environment, as every year more than 120 foreign students attend our undergraduate and master courses.
    We also have managed to create a close-knit community where you can easily get in touch with local students and the teachers. The mild climate of our geographical location invites you to take advantage of the cultural and leisure offer in the cities of the Universidad Rovira i Virgili (Reus, Tarragona and Tortosa).
